Wool Yorkshire

Oct 14, 2013

The initiative is being led by our own Jennifer Nickson, Abbotsford's Design & Marketing Executive alongwith Luxury Fabrics colleague Sara Duxbury.

Wool Yorkshire, which launches during Campaign for Wool’s Wool Week (October 14-20), will promote the fact that the mills of 21st century West Yorkshire are dynamic enterprises, buzzing with creativity and turning out premium quality fabrics for use by the world’s leading interiors, furnishings and fashion designers.  The message has been brought to life by a group of 20 furniture design, textile, fashion, millinery and creative talented students from Leeds College of Art.

"Abbotsford is thrilled to be at the forefront of design, supporting the next generation of new designers from Leeds College of Art,” said Jennifer.

"Wool Yorkshire is a great opportunity to showcase to both the people of Leeds and the design industry how Abbotsford’s high quality, woollen furnishing fabrics can be displayed in an innovative fashion.”

The week long exhibition opens on October 14 to mark the Campaign for Wool's annual Wool Week in the Victoria Quarter, Leeds. The event is being supported by the Campaign for Wool and Harvey Nichols, which will dedicate a window display to Wool Yorkshire during the event.
